Initially, my mom has recommended a coordinator for our wedding. The coordinator was also the same coordinator whom helped us with my sister's debut 9 years ago. I actually couldn't remember how he was as a coordinator or I guess I just didn't mind at all since I was just 19 back then. All I could remember was he choreographed our dance number/cotillion. I also had this impression that he invited someone (like a date) on my sister's debut. This was the reason why I was a bit hesitant in meeting him.
After months of my mom persuading me, I finally agreed to meet him. So I set a meeting with him last month. The meeting went well, he actually had taught of a theme for our wedding. And I got a little bit excited for our wedding because of the ideas he shared :) After the meeting ended he told me that he'll draft a proposal and that we'll be meeting again after 2 weeks. The 2 weeks had passed but I haven't received any updates from him. So I sent him an SMS last week (Wednesday) to ask if he has made the proposal. He replied that he has one already and will be able to present it to me the following Monday since he has some events that weekend. We both agreed to meet on Monday evening. The night before I sent him a text message as a reminder. He then replied that he can't make it because he forgot that he has a previous out-of-town engagement and that he'll be out-of-town for 3 days. He added that he will just leave the proposal at their shop and that he'll call me today to set another meeting.
On Monday, I asked my Mom if she can drop by the coordinators shop to get the proposal. That afternoon I got a text message from my Mom that the coordinator did not leave any proposal and even the people at the shop did not know that he was supposed to leave a proposal. :( I already sensed that he did not have the proposal yet because he just asked for the name of my fiancé the night before. My mom was a bit disappointed about this and told me to find a different coordinator. She even told me not to contact or reply to the coordinator anymore. This stressed me out! I’m not the type of person who leaves people hanging. I mean I wouldn't want people to do that to me so why do it to others, right? I just told my Mom that I’ll just wait for the coordinators text/call on Thursday (today!) as he promised. But if I don’t hear anything from him then I’ll apologize to him for not getting his service anymore.
Come to think of it I just remembered that when we had our first (and probably last) meeting he told me that he doesn't do event (wedding/debut) coordination full-time anymore but do agree for previous clients. I know that I'm only getting an OTD service but if it would take him awhile to send/prepare the proposal because of other activities then what would I expect from him a month before the wedding?
And so the search begins... ♥
